Meet Jose
Jose has been your neighbour in West hill, Centennial and West Rouge since 2006. His family were proud family members of Scarborough Gym Elites Gymnastics Club. Both daughters have attended Creative Minds Montesorri, St. Malachy Elementary School and Sir Oliver Mowat High School.
Jose is a dedicated community leader running to represent Ward 25 — Scarborough–Rouge Park on Toronto City Council. From arriving in Canada as a child living in a shelter to now leading a mobile healthcare clinic, Jose’s journey reflects the resilience and hopes of countless Scarborough families.
Mission / Why I’m Running
Jose believes Scarborough deserves more than just polished speeches and empty promises. He’s running because it’s time for real progress on the issues that matter most to families and residents across Ward 25. From creating meaningful jobs for our youth and expanding mobile, accessible healthcare to ensuring affordable housing with dignity and keeping our streets safe — Jose is committed to putting people first. His vision is to build a new era of collaboration and transparency at City Hall, where community voices drive the priorities and no one is left behind.
Personal Background & Community Values
As the son of newcomers, Jose understands what it means to hustle, to dream, and to overcome obstacles. His parents came to Canada determined to secure a better future for their children, a future Jose now fights to make possible for all Scarborough families. Grounded in the values of hard work, compassion, and service, Jose continues to stand up for local small businesses, champion health initiatives that meet people where they are, and protect the green spaces that make Scarborough special. Above all, his commitment is simple: community first, always.
Together, we can build a stronger, fairer Scarborough–Rouge Park — a place where every neighbour, every family, and every child has the chance to thrive. Join Jose on this journey and help shape a future we can all be proud of.
